Getting started

What is easyshare?

easyshare is is an all-in-one solution to pay your rent, bills and split sharehouse expenses. Whether you live on your own or with others, easyshare gets your household payments sorted with the option to use credit card or pay via bank transfer.

How does it work?

Whether it’s rent, bills or splitting shared expenses with housemates, we collect everyone’s share and pay the total for you. Each user tells us their preferred payment method with the multiple options of paying via bank transfer (free) or credit card (surcharge applies).

Can I pay my business rent by credit card?

Yes, we can pay both residential and commercial rent with your credit card. Simply tell us who you pay rent to, how often and how much, and we’ll take care of the recurring payments with your preferred direct debit payment method.

Where do I sign up?

Apps are coming soon. You can register on our homepage and we’ll let you know when we’re live!

 

Can I use easyshare to for pay bills only or rent only?

Absolutely. Once you’ve created your account it’s up to you which payments you want to use us for.

I’m a business customer, can I still pay my rent and expenses ?

At the moment, only home accounts can split payments. If this is something you’d like to be able to do though, let us know at hello@easyshare.money.

Why should I use easyshare?

What payment methods does easyshare offer?

Bank transfer for all Australian held bank accounts.

Visa, Mastercard and AMEX credit cards.

What about fixed contracts or agreements?

We believe if we’ve truly found a good thing together, we won’t need any fixed contracts! We do have is a user agreement though to keep the legal guys happy.

Are there cash advance fees for credit cards?

Nope. Zero cash advance fees, only the surcharges mentioned above.

How much does easyshare cost to use?

FREE for bank transfer

1.5% surcharge for Visa/Mastercard (incl. GST)

1.93% surcharge for AMEX (incl. GST)

How to...

Can I keep this account when I move to a new property ?

Yes you can just go to “Profile”, click on “Household” and edit property details to update accordingly.

How do I reset my password ?

Go to “Settings”, select “Security” and update password

How do I remove myself from a sharehouse?

Go to “Household” scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Request to leave household”

Can I switch from a single household to shared?

You can add housemates to your rent or bill payments at any time.

Can I add multiple properties to my account ?

Yes you can have as many easyshare accounts as you like, for multiple property types. This can be done from your Household page.

How do I switch between payment methods ?

Navigate to your Household and choose your preferred payment method for that account.

Note: You can switch between methods no later than 48 hrs before your payment is due.

How can I cancel a direct debit payment?

Go to the payments tab, select rent or bills, click on edit and pause payment.

How do I invite my housemates?

Invite your housemates via text message, email or your Facebook friends list. You can do this when you add rent, a bill or from your household page.

Do I approve IOU requests before they are paid?

Yes. If your housemate makes a request that you owe them money, you will always be notified and ask to confirm if you wish to pay them. Additionally, your housemate can also mark you as paid if you’ve paid them back outside easyshare.

What happens if my housemate doesn’t pay on time?

We’ll re-run payments up to seven times. Each time a payment fails we notify the user and give them the option to switch accounts or cards,. We notify housemates if their group payment (rent or bills) has been short-paid and is overdue.
